Are you part of the family of faith? Abraham, Lot, Moses, Joshua, Samson, David etc. Quote from The Bible miniseries on the History Channel: “Do not fear, have faith.” Without faith, we cannot please God. We need to have faith, faith and more faith.
The Bible miniseries on the History Channel is now officially the most watched cable television program of the year with 13.1 million viewers this past week. And this is only after the first episode. I didn’t get a chance to watch it last Sunday, but I plan on watching the second episode tonight at 8 PM Eastern. To get myself up to speed with where they left off, I decided to watch the first episode on YouTube last night. I tried to embed it here, but YouTube already blocked it on copyright grounds, so instead, I’m posting the sneak-peek of tonight’s episode.
I have to say, I’m extremely impressed with this series. I think a series like this has been a long time coming. It’s going to do a lot of good for many of us who are so tapped out and busy from work that we haven’t done justice to reading the Bible for ourselves and finding out what’s in it. Reading the Bible has always had this connotation of being boring, or unexciting, but as you can see above, when you take the events of the Bible off the page and make them come to life, there’s absolutely nothing that’s more exciting. I foresee this series having a lot of success.
As I was watching it, I was completely overcome with emotion at how amazing and wonderful God is when you look at how the story of faith pervades human history. God is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow. The same God that brought the Israelites of out Egypt in the face of tremendous adversity is the same God who is with the believers of today. The same God we pray to every day takes just as much interest in our lives as he did with the heroes of faith written about in the Bible. How incredible is that?
After watching this episode, how many of you are so grateful and happy to be a part of the family of faith, even despite all the hardships and testing and proving ourselves God always asks of us? If you’re not already a part of the family of faith, I pray that you get orphaned in through believing on the son of God, Jesus Christ, who died for our sins and for the sins of humanity, giving your life to him 100% and being led by his Holy Spirit to do great things not unlike what he did in the lives of our brothers and sisters in Christ who lived during Biblical times.

VERSE OF THE DAY
For consider him that endured such contradiction of sinners against himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds. — Hebrews 12:3 (KJV)
